Bill Muir
5th April 1943 - 23rd February 2010
Sadly Bill passed away on the 23rd
February 2010. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
His Enthusiasm for life, combined
with a Passion for his work, made Bill a unique character to know.
With an uncanny ability to remember
almost every animal that passed in front of him, he was the Ultimate
Livestock Dealer, a Master of his trade.
Words cannot do justice to his
reputation in the Livestock Industry, his name is known in virtually every
Livestock Market in the UK, and throughout Europe "Billy Muir" is a name
that brings knowing smiles to the faces of Dealers, either through
memories of personal dealings with him or admiration of his reputation.
Someone said the other day: "Bill
Muir was more than just a man, he was an Institution!"
What a way to be remembered!
We will Celebrate his life on the
11th of March at a Memorial Service in Faringdon.
I cannot fit everything that needs
to be said in these few lines, but he was an incredibly generous man,
proud of his Family, especially his Grandsons. He would not wish us to
grieve too long and would be embarrassed by the love that was being shown
for him.
We will share the donations
collected in his memory between the British Heart Foundation and The
Meningitis Trust. The one in thanks for the twenty one years of Extra Time
that he enjoyed since his triple bypass operation and the other in thanks
for his Grandson William.
Norma and I would like to sincerely
thank everyone for their cards, telephone calls, kind words and offers of
help. We are proud to call Every one of you "Bill's Friends".
